Quality Policies

In 2007 Fundaci贸n Banco de Alimentos added a new challenge: not only to provide increasingly more help, but also to do so with a high quality level, endorsed by the ISO9001 Quality Standard.

Striving to achieve the necessary quality implied adopting new tools so that it would become possible through organization and planning, to reach the results aimed at, and ongoing improvement in all the processes. The success of this mission in the organizations that have implemented ISO 9001 quality standards has resulted not only in that this became known in private-sector companies, but also in non-profit organizations.

For this reason, Fundaci贸n Banco de Alimentos decided to implement a Quality Management System (QMS) according to ISO 9001 Quality Standard 2000 version, aimed at reaching sustainable improvement in the performance of its activity. By implementing QMS, the Fundaci贸n aimed at setting precise targets for its future actions and facilitating follow-up of the progress made and satisfaction of needs by all interested parties.

This certification implied carrying out all tasks inherent to the consolidation of an organization that is continually committed to guaranteeing quality in the services it offers the community.

In April 2008 we extended the certification to include the Resource Communications and Development areas. From then on, all our departments meet the quality standards established by this international standard.


Quality Management System

The development of the Quality Management System (QMS) focuses on the satisfaction of needs of organizations and feeding centres (customers) and compliance with the requirements posed by donors (suppliers), strengthening the Foundation鈥檚 commitment with quality as its main priority. This system creates a structure that clearly defines the processes, providing the organizations and feeding centers, as well as donors, with the reliability that ensures that donations are made in a definite and controlled environment.

We continually establish, document, maintain and improve QMS according to ISO 9001:2000 Quality Standard requirements.


How to Implement this QMS:

  • We identify and determine the processes needed; their sequence and interaction.
  • We continually measure; follow up and analyze these processes through methods and criteria defined to ensure their effective performance.
  • We make sure that the necessary information is available to the people in charge of putting it into practice.
  • We provide the resources necessary to achieve the planned results and ongoing improvement.
