Evaluation and selection
Evaluation and selection is carried out based on documentation prepared by the organisation, the area in which it is located and the level of poverty it is in.
If the organisation presents all of the required information, there will be a visit to get to the know the facilities, verify that there is a hygienic place to store the food to prevent deterioration or contamination, as well as an adequate place to prepare it.
If the organisation meets these requirements, it is signed up to begin receiving food, and from that point on the task of monitoring each of these organisations begins.
Monitoring the Organisation
The staff of the Fundaci贸n, together with a team of volunteers, periodically carry out monitoring visits (a minimum of every six months), that serve to reinforce the link with the Fundaci贸n Banco de Alimentos and update the information about the services offered. That is: changes that have occured with respect to the quantity of people fed, the quantity of meals, the type of meals served and other information, to enable a better distribution of the foods donated.
During 2010, we conducted a satisfaction survey of the 488 community organisations linked to the Fundaci贸n, whereby various aspects of the services offered were evaluated. Click here to see the results.
