We Continue Adding Organizations!
On last September 7th., seventeen new organizations joined our network. To these we must add twelve more that arrived at our Foundation on October 5th for our Registration Meeting. There are now 501 organizations that have become a part of our network and may therefore place a monthly order for foodstuffs in general and a weekly order for fruit and vegetables. All of these, apart from providing feeding services, also carry out basic social functions in different areas: disability; home; community center; school support; employability; etc. Now, by providing them with food support, they will be able to devote more funds to their social promotion programs. Â
We Have Moved In to a New House!
As from November 21st. the Banco de Alimentos Foundation shall be operating from its new headquarters, adjacent to the previous one.
Once the overhaul process ended, we moved in to a 2,270 square-meter building. The size of the new warehouse is three times that of the one before, and will enable us to increase the volumes of the rescue program for fruit, vegetables and dairy products and introduce improvements in the classification of foodstuffs.Â
We hope to be able to significantly enlarge the impact of our programs during this new stage in which we are about to embark, not only as regards the amount of beneficiaries, but also the quality of the food that we deliver to them.
